Have you ever gone out for dinner and totally over-eaten and possibly drank too much? I know I have.
If you eat too much at your dinner meal it can really make you feel miserable and bloated and it can wreak havoc on your digestive system and your colon.
A heavy meal of meat, potatoes and a high calorie high-fat dessert is a recipe for intestinal agony because everything you have consumed sits in your intestinal tract for 2 to 3 days and in some cases up to seven days.
Over-indulging on that much rich food causes an overload in the colon and makes it difficult for the food to be processed and then eliminated naturally. In addition when you overload your body with that much food you can deplete the enzymes in your body that are necessary to easily break the food down.
Another unfortunate thing that happens when you’re at a restaurant or enjoying a festive party, there is a tendency to binge and to eagerly eat your food fast, causing you to not chew your food properly and this causes bigger chunks of food to try to make its way down your gastrointestinal tract which puts a huge strain on your digestive system.
Now, if you’ve been reading my articles you know I do not recommend eating or drinking like this on a regular basis. However, we are all human and in our culture we may be exposed at times to an occasional dinner at a restaurant or a rare night of indulgence in high-fat high calorie foods.
If you do decide to have a splurge like this once in a while, it is really a good idea to cleanse your colon right away and get that garbage out of your system as fast as possible.
